Named in 1791 deed of emancipation. Scheduled for emancipation in 1793. Emancipated by deed dated January 1, 1793; deed proved in Westmoreland County Court onFebruary 28, 1793. Left Nomony Hall with her husband on July 31, 1793, to enter Robert Carter's service in Baltimore. Receiving wages in 1793 and 1794. Her certificate of emancipation recorded in Baltimore in 1793 or 1794. Inoculated for smallpox in July 1794. Possibly the same person hired by Carter as laundress in May 1795. (It is also possible that this is the same Sarah (born 1761, daughter of Robin Single <--->, laundry maid) who underwent a dramatic conversion to evangelical religion in April 1778.)
