<304> Sampson Robinson -- Born 1770. Son of Molly <502>; husband of Rose Harris (319>; father of Elijah <044>, Anna 583>, and probably Winny (584>. Residing at Bull Run in 1774. Sent from Cancer/Prince William to the Shenandoah tract in 1783 or 1784 (described as plowman"). Residing at Libra in September 1784 and 1785, at Aquarius in 1788 (foreman) and 1791. Named in 1791 deed of emancipation; scheduled for emancipation in 1792. Emancipated by deed dated January 2, 1792; deed proved in Westmoreland County Court, May 29, 1792, with Sampson present. In December 1792, Sampson negotiated an agreement with Carter to rent a tenement on the Shenandoah tract and to hire his wife Rose and their two young children.
