Lucy Thorton

<192> Lucy Thornton -- Probably born 1781 (some sources suggest 1779). Daughter of Mary Thornton <380> and (Pressley <353>7]; granddaughter of Abraham (464> and Betty <471>. Residing at Forest in 1782 and 1785. Sent from Forest to the Shenandoah tract in April 1787. In June 1788,Lucy ran away with her grandparents and her sister Betty<---> from the Shenandoah tract to Nomony Hall. Lucy was ordered to Aries to nurse a child belonging to Sally Jones (414>. She was residing at Forest in 1791 and 1796, and was named in the 1791 deed of emancipation. She was scheduledfor emancipation in 1799, but name is not listed among those presented for freedom in that year.
