(036>James Burke (listed as "Jesse Burke" in 1796 andlater)-- Born 1789 or 1790, possibly earlier (one referencesuggests that James and his twin brother Henry <037> wereborn as early as 1787 and were living at Leo in 1788). Son of Winney Burke <422>. Described as dark mulatto. Residing at Leo in 1791 and 1796. Named in 1791 deed ofemancipation.
