Early residences undetermined; apparently residing at Coles Point at least from 1787 through 1791, although not listed in the 1788 or 1790 censuses of that plantation. Serving as fisherman and oysterman in 1787, 1788, and 1791. Over 45 years old in 1791. Emancipated by deed dated January 1, 1793; deed proved in Westmoreland County Court, February 27, 1793.
