<300> Daniel Conway -- Born 1771. Probably son of Joan Conway <481>. Residing at Old Ordinary in 1782 and 1785 (not tithable), at Forest in 1788, 1790, and 1791. On October 4, 1790, Daniel was charged before the Westmoreland County Court with stealing a sheep from William Harrison, the tenant at Forest. He pled guilty but prayed for benefit of clergy, which was granted. He was dismissed after being branded in the hand. Named in the 1791 deed of emancipation, Daniel was scheduled for emancipation in 1793. He was emancipated by a deed dated January 1, 1793; deed proved in Westmoreland County Court on February 28, 3793.
