Born 1772. Daughter of Sarah Daly (474). Wife of Ben (on Mr. Thornton's estate). Mother of Clara (543) and Joe (544). At Old Ordinary 1782/1785/1788/1789/1791/1796. Scheduled free 1801. In Sept 1792 Carter refused to allow Dorcas to accompany her husband when transferred to King George County. Emancipated Jan 1 1801. Also named in deed Dec 21 1803.
