Biography
<266> George Tuckson -- Born 1773. Son of Harry Tuckson <472>. Residing at Old Ordinary in 1782, 1785, and 1787. In October 1787, George's name was included in a list of people scIedu1ed to be sent from Old Ordinary to Capricorn. In January 1788, Carter directed that he be sent to Leo or Cancer/Prince William instead. Carter deemed this change necessary to protect George from reprisal8 by Betty Banks (later known as Betty Hollady" <435>), who had been sentfrom Old Ordinary to the Shenandoah tract as a result of information given by George. Instead of going to Bull Run, however, George was placed at Coles Point in January 1789 as a substitute for Sukey Johnson <327>. He was residing at Coles Point in 1790 and 1791. Named in the 1791 deed of emancipation, George was scheduled for emancipation in 1795. He received his certificate of emancipation in 1795.
