<345> Dennis Johnston ("Denes") -- Born 1765 or 1766. Parents unknown. Residing at Aries in 1782 and 1784, at Nomony Hall in 1790 and 1791, and back at Aries in 1796. Described as weaver in 1782, 1784, 1787, and 1791, but serving as sailor in 1790 and 1791. Hired by Daniel Sullivan as weaver in 1782. Temporarily assigned in 1785 to Nomcny Hall as woodcutter and in 1787 to John Peck and then to Thomas Sanford. Called back to Nomony Hall in August 1787. Crew member on the Betsy in 1790 and 1791. Named in deed of emancipation. Scheduled for emancipation in 1799. Emancipated by deed dated November 3, 1799; deed proved in Frederick County Court, December 3, 1799.
