Mary Johnson

<318> Mary Johnson -- Born 1773. Parents unknown; mother of
Winney (028>, Dennis <621), Jerry <622>, and Polly <623).
Subject of a quarrel at Forest in July 1787 that led to a
fight among three black men and the whipping of her brother,
Jerry Johnson <303>. Residing at Cancer/Richmond in 1789,
1790, 1791, and 1796. Pregnant on January 13, 1790, when
she went to Nomony Hall to complain that she had received no
blanket or clothing for the expected baby (probably Winney,
(028)). Named in 1791 deed of emancipation. Scheduled for
emancipation in 1801. Emancipated by deed dated January 1,
1801; deed proved in Frederick County Court, February 2,
